Our partnership with Swedish Medical Center's Seattle Heart & Vascular Institute links many
of the area’s finest cardiac specialists, creating one complete
system of care. Our cardiologists and physicians use standardized treatment
plans to help ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care.
Additionally, we are linked by a computer network that enables us to share
test results and other information, reducing the chance that tests and
procedures will need to be repeated. Through this integrated system, patients
will have the benefit of more effective, cooperative and coordinated care

Get with the Guidelines™
CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
What is the Get With The Guidelines Program?
The American Heart Association in partnership with member hospitals developed
“Get With The Guidelines” to provide a unified approach to
cardiovascular quality improvement.
The program is designed as a prospective interventional process, in the
hospital setting, to significantly increase compliance with the Coronary
Heart Disease (CHD) secondary prevention treatment by the time of discharge.
Hospitals and physicians work together to monitor those factors which
make up secondary prevention for the treatment of CHD, including:
- Antiplatelet Therapy
The use of Angiotensin II Blockade
- Beta Blockers
- Cholesterol/Lipid Therapy
- Statins
- Fibrates
- Niacin
- Diet
- Nutritional Counseling Referral
- Smoking Cessation Referral
- Diabetes Therapy and Education
- Exercise and Lifestyle change
- Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Referrals
Prevention is cost effective quality care. Working as a team we can make
the Get With The Guidelines program a model that can save at least 80,000
lives a year.
