Patient Family Information Program

Patient and Family Information Program: Easily get the Health Information You Need

The Planetree Patient/Family Information Program offers free medical and health information for patients while in the hospital in order to demystify healthcare.

At Highline we believe patients are more likely to participate in their care if they have access to valid information to make intelligent choices. Our staff asks each patient about his or her informational needs and sees to it that the patient receives appropriate materials according to age, education level, language and degree of interest. Patients are not required to participate but the opportunity is always available.

Patients and families can access medical and health information in our Planetree Health Library (site), conveniently located on both Highline Campuses, or through the following resources:

Planetree Fact Sheets

Over 350 fact sheets are available in our hospital-wide Meditech computer system. Topics range from general medical conditions to tests, procedures and nutrition. Ask our staff to print out a fact sheet on your topics of interest.

Planetree Unit Libraries

Our Planetree Unit Libraries (located in all patient care areas) provide medical, health and inspirational books and other resources.

Patient Information Packet Service

The Patient Information Packet Service provides free personalized medical and health information in a packet form.
