Highline Medical Group Receives the Premera Blue Cross 2010 Healthcare Quality Award

Highline Medical Group has received the 2010 Healthcare Quality Award from Premera Blue Cross. A handful of practices statewide received this distinction for delivering exceptional adult care, based on clinical performance on a variety of measures.

The Science Behind the 2010 Healthcare Quality Award

As a consumer, how can you judge healthcare quality? Look at the data. Premera Blue Cross measured the performance of more than 700 primary care practices statewide, large and small. They tracked a variety of clinical measures, from how well the practice managed conditions like diabetes, asthma and heart disease to how satisfied patients were with everything from wait times to the thoroughness of care. Then they created scorecards for each practice.

The 2010 Healthcare Quality Awards were given to the top-performing medical practices for "promoting healthcare quality and representing best practices in the delivery of high-quality care to patients."
