Welcome to Highline Cancer Center
Thank you for choosing Highline Cancer Center for your treatment. We appreciate your confidence and are committed to your satisfaction. Let us know how we may serve you better. Here you’ll find answers to commonly asked questions.
What are your hours?
Clinic hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
How should I prepare for my visit?
Our staff members have some suggestions to help your visits be as smooth and comfortable as possible. Please let us know if you have any special needs (oxygen or a bed). We will do our best to accommodate you. For your convenience, most of our treatment areas have comfortable recliner chairs and restrooms.
Visits that take several hours will be given morning appointments to accommodate available treatment/infusion areas.
If you are receiving radiation therapy or have other procedures scheduled, be sure to advise the schedulers so we may coordinate your appointments.
What should I bring with me to my appointment?
Your visit may last several hours. May we suggest:
- Bring a friend or family member to visit during your treatment to help pass the time. Seating space is available for one or two guests.
- Please bring a list of the medications you take, including the dose and your schedule.
Can I eat during appointments?
A light snack may be provided for patients during your treatment visit. Coffee, tea and juice are always available. Guests may bring in food or purchase meals from the cafeteria and bring them back to the Cancer Center. Please try to avoid foods with strong odors, as some of our patients may be sensitive to smells.
Do I need to tell the staff or my doctor anything before, after or during my visit?
Yes
- It is very important that you advise your doctor if you start or stop any medications while you are receiving treatment.
- Please verify your next appointment prior to leaving the Cancer Center, even if you are on a regular schedule.
- If nonemergent issues arise during treatment, please write them down and bring to your next appointment to discuss with your doctor.
Are there any resources at the hospital that can help me cope?
Your emotional, social and spiritual needs are important to us. Please let us know if you and your family would like a visit with our social worker and/or chaplain.
Additionally, educational sessions and support groups available include breast cancer support, prostate cancer support and cancer fitness. Detailed information is available in the Wellness Center or by request.
