The Highline Medical Center laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment and testing methods. Services are offered in the following specialties:

  • Hematology

  • Routine chemistry
  • Special chemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Pathology
  • Cytology

Registered medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians perform all testing. Three pathologists provide the laboratory medicine services and are board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. The lab is inspected by the College of American Pathologists, licensed by the Washington State Department of Health and accredited by The Joint Commission.

The lab serves as a gateway to local and national laboratory services through referrals to other labs, such as:

  • Quest Diagnostics
  • Cancer Care Alliance
  • Nichols Institute
  • Seattle-King Co. Health Department
  • Mayo Medical Laboratories
  • University of Washington

Our primary outpatient lab is Highline Diagnostics at 160th St, located a block from Highline Medical Center. It offers convenient parking, quick service, highly trained phlebotomy staff and easy access for the handicapped. No appointment is needed for most tests. Patients instructed to have fasting tests should abstain from eating for 8 to 12 hours prior to testing. Only water should be taken. Regular medication should be taken on time, unless otherwise instructed by the physician.
