Cancer Committee and Tumor Board

At Highline, we believe in taking an integrated approach to care. One important aspect of how we treat cancer is our team approach. The Tumor Board is a team of cancer care experts who meet weekly.

Cancer includes a very broad and complex group of problems. No one person or group can effectively manage all that is required for successful treatment. The best outcomes are achieved by a variety of treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy and other techniques. These must be closely coordinated for the best results.

And for any of the primary treatment to work, it must be integrated with good nursing care, nutritional support, social work, pastoral care and administrative support. The Tumor Boards weekly conferences allow the individuals participating in the care of cancer patients to come together as a team.
