The Highline Wound Healing Institute is a dedicated, surgically driven outpatient program to help heal chronic wounds.

Our approach to wound healing involves controlling infection, improving vascular flow, actively debriding nonviable tissue and applying appropriate dressings. By healing chronic wounds quickly, we hope to avoid amputations and restore mobility to patients suffering from nonhealing wounds.

Patients who could benefit from this program would be those with:

  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Venous stasis ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Arterial ulcers
  • Surgical wounds that won't heal
  • Infected wounds
  • Injuries such as burns, bites, lacerations or contusions
  • Any disease that causes nonhealing wounds, such as rheumatoid arthritis or gout as well as patients on medications such as steroids or oncology drugs
