Is Robot-Assisted Surgery Right for You?

Highline Medical Center offers advanced robotic-assisted surgery through the da Vinci Surgical System.

What is Robotic-Assisted Surgery?

The da Vinci Robotic System is designed to allow complex procedures to be performed through a few tiny incisions. It provides surgeons with enhanced capabilities, including highly magnified visualization inside the body, 3D view of the operative field and greater precision, dexterity and range of motion. The da Vinci System is an enabling technology. It does not place a robot at the controls...a surgeon controls every aspect of the surgery.

Benefits of Robotic-Assisted Surgery

  • Less pain following the operation
  • Less risk of infection
  • Less Anesthesia
  • Less blood loss
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Faster and more complete recovery
  • Quicker return to normal daily activities

Robotic-Assisted Procedures

Gynecology Procedures

Robotic-Assisted gynecology surgery can be the most effective, least invasive treatment option. Through tiny, 1-2 cm incisions, surgeons can operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.

Urology Procedures

Robotic-Assisted urology surgery is a minimally invasive approach that allows the surgeon to have better control and perform the surgery through the smallest of incisions. This creates a potential for significantly less pain, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery and better clinical outcomes.
