Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Care
This unit offers rehabilitation and skilled nursing services in a hospital environment. Our transitional care model allows patients to reach an optimal health level prior to leaving the hospital. Families are encouraged to join with the team in developing individualized treatment programs. We provide a comfortable, home-like atmosphere with attention to every detail. RRC is state approved and nationally accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and The Joint Commission.
Rehabilitation is overseen by a physician who serves as our medical director. Additionally, a physiatrist (a medical doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation) is on staff and available for consultation. Many other trained professionals comprise the treatment team. The amount and type of therapy a patient receives is based upon condition, level of endurance and rehabilitation potential. As a Medicare-certified skilled nursing unit, we are able to treat wounds, administer IV medications and deliver a broad range of other specialized nursing services.
Many healing and creative activities are incorporated into our program. These provide an enjoyable and therapeutic diversion from rehab routine while contributing to reach treatment goals.
Some examples of conditions we are able to treat are:
- Stroke (CVA)
- Fractures requiring post-operative rehabilitation
- Hip and knee replacement surgeries or procedures
- Spinal surgeries
- Amputation assessment and care
- Pneumonia
- COPD
- Cancer
- Neurological disorders
Meet our Medical Director Harry Pierce, D.O.
Palliative services are available for those needing skilled nursing for end-of-life care. Our staff is sensitive to the needs of the dying person and the grieving family. Every effort is made to make the patient and family as comfortable as possible during this difficult time by providing psychosocial support and effective pain management.
