Acute Rehabilitation
Acute Rehabilitation is a unit offering rehabilitation in a hospital environment. Our intensive rehab model allows patients to reach an optimal health level prior to leaving the hospital. Families are encouraged to join with the team in developing individualized treatment programs. We provide a supportive atmosphere, which is conducive to reaching challenging rehab goals. Acute Rehabilitation is state approved and nationally accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Additionally, we are accredited by The Joint Commission.
Rehabilitation is overseen by a physiatrist (a medical doctor specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation) who serves as our medical director. Additionally, a medical doctor manages ongoing medical needs. The nursing and therapy staffs have expertise in the treatment of neurological impairments.
Many other trained rehabilitation professionals comprise the treatment team. The amount and type of therapy a patient receives is based upon condition, level of endurance and rehabilitation.
Some examples of conditions we are able to treat are:
- Stroke (CVA)
- Fractures requiring post-operative rehabilitation
- Hip and knee replacement surgeries or procedures
- Spinal surgeries
- Amputation assessment and care
- Neurological disorders

Many healing and creative activities are incorporated into our program. These provide an enjoyable and therapeutic diversion from rehab routine while contributing to reaching treatment goals.
