Prevention & Rehabilitation

Highline Medical Center offers comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation and prevention programs to serve two distinct groups. These include patients who have had cardiac surgery or other treatments and want to resume a normal life as soon as possible. These programs also benefits people who may be at risk for heart disease and believe in the power of prevention.

Services Include

  • Screenings — These help people gain the knowledge they need to better manage heart disease or reduce their risk. Screenings for body fat, cholesterol and high blood pressure are available on an individual basis or in a group setting.
  • Educational Resources — To further the understanding of heart disease, we offer a full schedule of classes that cover virtually every heart-related topic. Additionally, personalized education opportunities are available that range from stress management to nutrition counseling. Our comprehensive cardiac-health library also provides patients with valuable education resources.
  • PTCA — Also called a coronary angioplasty, this procedure allows physicians to create an angiogram (map) of the coronary arteries or of the heart itself that shows blockages, irregularities or other problems. Injected dye shows details of the arteries and/or heart on a special monitor. Learn more.
  • Stents — This procedure uses a small stainless steel mesh "coil" that is placed in the coronary artery at the area of blockage. The "coil" helps keep the artery open so blood can flow freely to the heart muscle. Learn more.
