Our Treatment Philosophy
Highline Addiction Recovery Center has a long, successful history of helping people overcome drug and alcohol problems. We were originally known as the Care Unit when we started in 1974. We view chemical dependency as a chronic disease resulting from repeated and progressively more devastating brain and systemic exposure to certain chemical compounds.
Addiction brings with it well-documented adverse consequences in the patient’s physical, cognitive, social, emotional, occupational and spiritual well-being. We recognize that patient readiness for behavior change is highly variable. Using therapeutic skill, we assess what stage of change the patient is currently in and intervene in ways consistent with moving the patient towards sustained recovery.
To help motivate this change, we provide the following:
- Therapeutic setting
- Group and individual counseling
- Psychoeducational and other cognitive behavioral interventions
- Motivational enhancement therapy
- 12-Step participation
- Family education and support
- Strong relapse prevention focus
- Peer support through Magic Works Alumni
We accept inquiries 24 hour a day, seven days a week. Anyone may call for help. We place no restrictions on referrals. The patient will then be assessed to determine the appropriate care needed.
