Spiritual Care
Treating the Whole Body, Not Just the Illness
Injury and illness affect not only the body, but the spirit as well. The strain of a hospital stay can be emotionally draining, which can affect healing. At Highline Medical Center, we treat the whole person, not just the illness. We also recognize that everyone’s journey is different. Each individual’s approach to spirituality is intensely personal. Our spiritual care program is designed to give you support when you need it and in the way that best meets your needs.
Highline chaplains are available at both of our campuses to provide respectful spiritual and emotional care to all patients, family, friends and staff. Chaplains are available to people of all faiths and spiritualities, including those who identify themselves as non-religious or non-spiritual. We believe one of the greatest gifts we can give you is to listen and to provide quiet companionship in a time of crisis. You can turn to us for spiritual support, counseling, accompaniment and prayer.
We can also help connect you with a religious leader of your own faith from the community. To contact the chaplain, ask your nurse or you may call us directly.

Chapels and Gardens
Multi-Faith Chapels
Located on both campuses, these chapels offer quiet, peaceful spaces for rest, retreat, prayer and meditation. Each chapel has a selection of sacred texts and inspirational materials. There is also a Prayer Request Book, where you are invited to ask for prayers on behalf of yourself or a loved one. Both chapels are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You'll find the chapels at the following locations:
Main Campus: 5th floor, Birch Wing, across from the Laboratory
Specialty Campus: 1st floor, just off the Main Lobby
Healing Gardens
Healing Gardens offer natural and beautiful settings for quiet conversation, contemplation and prayer. At our Main Campus, you'll find the Healing Garden just off the 4th floor Gallery. There's also a smaller garden near the entrance to the Highline Cancer Center. At our Specialty Campus, the Healing Garden is located across from the gift shop on the 2nd floor.
